It is reassuring to meet and connect with others who are experiencing the same kind of feelings and to know that you are not the only one. When everyone is ‘in the same boat’ it is easier to feel trusting, accepted and understood. Peer support is relaxed and mutual.
-
Peer Support Groups provide the opportunity for people to meet with others so that they give as well as receive support, which can help you to feel better about yourself.
-
It can be easier to socialise in a supportive group environment and being part of a peer support network means there are people within reach who you can communicate with.
