SpeakUpCIC evolved from an organisation called the East Kent User Forum, which was established in 1992 to capture and share the voice of mental health service users. SpeakUpCIC was set up as an independent not-for-profit organisation in February 2011 to continue promoting the voice of service users and provide a range of peer support groups and activities to help improve mental health and wellbeing.  SpeakUpCIC currently operates in Thanet and Ashford.
 
SpeakUpCIC is led by Managing Director and Founder Maggie Gallant who is supported by a small team of dedicated staff and volunteers with lived experience. The service we provide is shaped by our service user members as the valued experts by experience to ensure that it continues to meet their needs.
