• Service User, Carers and Public Engagement.

We'd like to take this opportunity to keep everyone informed about the work we are doing to capture the voices of Mental Health service users and their carers under our new contract with Engaging Kent CIC.

Our work is about collecting the voice and experiences of service users and carers in Thanet, Ashford, Dover and Deal. We do that by holding drop-ins in the community; attending community groups and speaking to their members; speaking to our members and speaking to service users on a one-to-one basis. When we collect these issues and feedback, which can be positive or negative, we will work with the service user to try and come to some kind of resolution, where possible and appropriate, but we will also feed the comments - with the service user's or carer's consent and anonymously if desired - into a Kent wide database which is used to inform commissioners and KMPT about where the issues are across the county and where changes need to be made.

Under our engagement contract we are committed to working proactively with other service providers to resolve individual issues at a local level, if at all possible. We are able to support service users and their carers at every stage of this process and can facilitate the escalation of issues or concerns should the need arise.

If you have a group that you think may benefit either myself, David Rowden or John Childs, coming into to talk to your members, get in touch and we can arrange that, or if you have any feedback or comments about your local mental health services, get in touch and we can take those forward.

If you'd like to get in touch, you can email either David or John on david@speakupcic.co.uk or john@speakupcic.co.uk . Alternatively, you can call us on our office line on (01843) 448384. Or, Contact Us here.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
